# Tentang Nama / On the Name

**project**\
**proyek**

Kami menolak menjadi salah satunya, sambil tahu kami kadang tetap melakukannya.

In Indonesian, proyek is a borrowed word still carrying the trace of something managed from elsewhere. Development projects. Capacity-building projects. Dekolonial projects, packaged as portable tools.

We use the name as mockery.

Because the nationalism that followed independence was not a break from colonialism. It was a new face of it. Fanon saw this: the national bourgeoisie inheriting power, replicating the colonial structure under a local flag. The modern nation-state as proyek. We refuse to be one, while knowing we sometimes are anyway.

### Ejekan yang Serius / A Serious Mockery

"Proyek Dekolonial" — in English, "Decolonial Project" — is a mockery of the project paradigm itself. Of the logic that everything well-intentioned must take the form of a project: funded, scheduled, evaluated, reported.

The language mixing carries the same logic. A serious document about decolonization, written in a strange language mixture, following no academic convention or activist convention or any convention — is a refusal to be a neat project.

It refuses to behave. It refuses to choose one language and respect its hierarchy. It refuses to be easily cited in the right journal in the right format.

And in that refusal — in that deliberate uncleanness — there is an argument louder than anything that could be written neatly.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://proyekdekolonial.gitbook.io/docs/arsip/kenal-lebih-jauh/tentang-nama-on-the-name.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
